Wishing well are you for real?
I threw a coin into the murky depths
Plop!
Eyes shut tight and fists clenched in hope
I made a wish

I am sure that when most people
Make a wish
They wish for:
Vast fortunes or good health
Frustrated men for beautiful women
Visa versa
But being of a ‘foolish’ nature
I decided not to be so selfish
Unless of course
Wishing for:
Universal peace, freedom
Equality and food for all
Is being selfish

Because it would make me happy
It would make millions happy

I can see slogans saying
“Love Rules OK”
As i wait for a bus
The bus arrives
Someone stands on my foot
In a race for seats
My heart cries
